How the Storytelling of WoW Keeps Evolving

For over 14 years now, World of Warcraft has remained to only be active, but relevant as a whole in the gaming community. While it did not define the massively-multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) genre that we have today, it continues to be a part of it. More importantly, it continues to evolve with it. With the release of its seventh expansion, Battle for Azeroth, WoW boasts a thriving fanbase, along with tons of third-party marketplaces selling WoW accounts, WoW Gold and boosting services. However, there’s one thing that the players all agree on—the storytelling of the lore has definitely improved.

Storytelling in WoW: Then & Now

Game storytelling doesn’t get much more epic than the Warcraft universe. With the franchise turning 25 years old soon and having released the seventh expansion, World of Warcraft stories have been told as a fantasy world set in conflict. Epic struggles, each with grand heroes and vicious villains push players into the spotlight while these wars raged, with the players protecting the safety of the virtual lands they live on. And since then, players have been held in captive awe as to how Blizzard has told its stories since the early days. Mind you that they’ve managed to evolve their stories to keep up with the changing tastes and technologies of the time and to keep the players immersed and entertained.

How Battle of Azeroth Keeps Things Entertaining

Back when World of Warcraft launched Facebook, Youtube, or smartphones weren’t even in existence. WoW was the first MMORPG to have a social network, with the millions of players playing the game.  Since then, the newest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, has taken place in the shadow of the opening act for World of Warcraft, the War of the Thorns. In this event, both Horde and Alliance players head to the Night Elf territory of Darkshore to take part in the battle. Eventually, the Alliance falls back and the Horde claims Darnassus, the capital city of the Night Elves. Sylvanas Wind runner, the Horde Warchief, then makes the decision to burn Darnassus down while still full of civilians in an unprecedented act of genocide. Whether you choose to be a member of the Alliance of the Horde is up to you.

Blizzard decided to mix things up on patch 8.1, Tides of Vengeance. A quest line called the Fate of Saurfangwill now have a rare player choice inside it. When players meet up with Zekhan, they’ll now have an option to either accept his quest or reject it. Accepting the quest will have it play out like normal, but a rejection leads players down a darker, more loyal path. Upon rejecting Zekhan, loyal Horde players will be given a quest to return to Sylvanas and tell her of this treachery. Sylvanas then reveals that she has “special plans” for Zekhan, which doesn’t sound particularly good for anyone.

Wrap Up

While World of Warcraft has offered light choices like this in the past, these quests usually revolve around the character (or an NPC) killing someone. The choice with Zekhan is far more involved than most other World of Warcraft choices, especially since it has the potential to drastically impact the narrative.

Ultimately, the ability for characters to choose which sides to serve, Saurfang or Sylvanas, is fantastic. It’s exciting, new, and may lead to a whole new avenue that’ll eventually open up WoW to more people. The question is what comes next? How will this new method of storytelling be used for both sides? One thing’s for sure, it’s going to take more than a branching story to create a satisfying ending for those who are hyped for the new expansion.

5 Best Maplestory 2 Classes

A player’s choice of class in any MMO is crucial. After all, you’ll be stuck as that class for the rest of your playthrough of the game—barring games that allow class switching. Maplestory 2 isn’t in that latter category though, so choosing a class is something that needs careful consideration.

Some of the classes in MP2 may need more Maplestory 2 Mesos to get the best out of its skills and abilities. However, if you’re the type to enjoy absolutely destroying bosses as fast as you can, that’s not really going to be an issue.

Without further ado, here are the five best classes for PvM in Maplestory 2.

Heavy Gunner

Heavy Gunner is a good PvM-focused class. It has the fastest clear times, provided the player knows how to properly cycle through their skills. When they do, the damage they can dish out is massive. However, if the enemy zips around the map, it gets hard to hit. They’re also a bit lacking in terms of options for mobility. If you’re up for the challenge, however, it can be a very rewarding choice.

Wizard

Wizards deal greater damage per hit. They’re a crowd control class with many area-of-effect spells. For all its potential to deal much damage, it has low defense. A handy teleport skill is its best friend to avoid enemy attacks. Just be careful when you use the skill, as it could cancel the spell you’re casting. While it’s a beginner-friendly class, some of its combos do need some technical skills to pull off.

Assassin

Assassins rely on critical hits for their high burst damage. They’re really mobile and attacks at mid-range. It’s a good thing, as they don’t really have much health. One or two hits from a boss (especially the stronger ones) can knock them down for the count. Overall, assassins need players who are good at judging distance and avoiding enemy attacks. They’re the straight-up heavy damage dealers.

Berserker

Berserkers have the highest HP and can dish out damage like no other. However, being a melee class means you have to go up close and personal to the enemy. For some bosses, that almost certainly spells suicide! There’s also the difficulty of keeping up stacks of their passive buff. When you’re able to figure out a strategy for that though, you’re rewarded with the highest damage a melee class can reach.

Runeblade

Runebladesare mid-ranged fighters who enchant their swords with ice, fire, or storm elements. They have good mobility and have the most visually-pleasing skills. Depending on how you build them, you can be a crowd controller, a damage dealer, or a support character. A highly-versatile character, it can also be a little difficult when you’re trying to dodge attacks while spamming skills.

Of course, that’s only for the damage dealing classes. If you’d rather support your friends, Priests or Soul Binders might be closer to your preference. It all depends on your preference. Take the time to learn about the pros and cons of each class and ask yourself exactly how you want to play. There are multiple character slots so you can start again if the class isn’t what you expected. At any rate, it’s more important that you enjoy the game.

Halfway There: WoW Battle for Azeroth Achievement Flying Mounts

WoW Mounts Battle for Azeroth Whether it’s Earth or Azeroth, there’s no better way to travel than to do so way up high. And although there’s the option to teleport, nothing competes with being on your own WoW mount riding through the clouds while looking down at the utterly fantastical world below. In true World of Warcraft fashion, you’ll have to unlock this ability. If you’ve been playing for quite some time now, you’ll know right off the bat that this is a tedious task. The same goes here in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.

Explorer and Diplomat

Just as it was in Legion, there are two achievements that you need to accomplish in order to gain access to the skies. But for now, only one of the two is currently available, which is Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder: Part One, so you’ll just have to go with that.

Like in Legion, to unlock the achievement in question, you need to unlock a handful of other achievements first.

First on the list is the Battle for Azeroth Explorer, which requires players to explore the following areas:

  • Tiragarde Sound
  • Stormsong Valley
  • Nazmir
  • Drustvar
  • Zuldazar
  • Vol’dun

Next would be the achievement Azerothian Diplomat, which requires to earn Revered status with certain factions. For Alliance, that would be the Proudmoore Admiralty, Order of Embers, Storm’s Wake, or7th Legion. For the Horde, that would be the Zandalari Empire, Talanji’s Expedition, Voldunai, and The Honorbound.

Note: Both factions must earn Revered status with Champions of Azeroth and Tortolian Seekers.

Another necessary achievement is the Wide World of Quests. This requires you to finish 100 World Quests in KulTiras and Zandalar. It’s pretty tedious, but hey, it’s the lofty price you have to pay for you to soar up high. Besides, once you’re done with this achievement, you’re pretty much set for life, as this is an account-wide achievement. The same goes for battle for Azeroth Explorer and Azerothian Diplomat.

Tour of Duty, Forever

After that would be Kul Tourist for Alliance and Zandalar Forever! for the Horde.

For Kul Tourist, you’ll need to achieve the following achievements:

  • A Sound Plan – finish the Tiragarde Sound storylines
  • Stormsong and Dance – finish the Stormsong Valley storylines
  • Drust Do It – finish theDrustvar

For Zandalar Forever!, you’ll need to finish more achievements compared to Kul Tourist. But hey, you’re part of the Horde, so you’re tougher than those puny Alliance do-gooders anyway.

These achievements are as follows:

  • The Throne of Zuldazar – complete the Zuldazarstorylines
  • Secrets in the Sands – complete theVol’dun storylines
  • The Dark Heart of Nazmir – complete theNazmir storylines
  • A Bargain of Blood – complete the Blood Gate quest line in Zuldazar
  • The Final Seal – Complete the Zandalar Forever scenario in Zuldazar

Fight Before Flight

Once you’re done with all those achievements, it’s time for the last one: Ready for War.

For the Alliance, you need to accomplish the following campaigns:

  • Nazmir Foothold
  • Zuldazar Foothold
  • Chasing Darkness
  • Blood in the Water
  • Vol’dun Foothold
  • Blood on the Sand
  • A Golden Opportunity
  • The Strike on Zuldazar

As for the Horde, it’d be as follows:

  • Drustvar Foothold
  • Stormsong Valley Foothold
  • The Marshal’s Grave
  • At the Bottom of the Sea
  • Tiragarde Sound Foothold
  • The First Assault
  • Death of a Tidesage
  • The Strike on Boralus

These achievements are, unfortunately, not account-wide. Which means you’ll have to do them all over again for another character. But with Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One, the only reason to get them for your alternate characters would be for completionist purposes.

After accomplishing all those achievements, congratulations! You now have Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder, Part One. Aside from being halfway to having a flying mount, you’ll be rewarded with 20% Increased Mount Speed in KulTiras and Zandalar.

Path to the Future: Albion Online Roadmap

Albion Online has been released for quite some time now. So much so that even its most loyal fans are now starting to ask; what’s next for the ambitiously unorthodox MMO? The answer: A lot. The team has numerous plans for the game to be bigger and better as time goes on. Check out the roadmap and see what’s in store for Albion Online in the near and not-so-near future.

Fight for the Crystal

First off the list would be improvements and new content for both PVP and open world. There is more focus on the former, especially in Guild versus Guild (GVG). That is because GvG is the highlight of high-level guild gameplay. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen often enough, so to promote it and make it more accessible, they’re introducing the Crystal Realm GvG Battles.

To participate, guilds must have a watchtower. One watchtower means one battle slot for one of their teams in a Crystal Realm Battle.

For this particular GvG battle, there will be two timezone groups, and each territory will be in either of these groups depending on its prime time. All fights within a particular timezone will take place at the same time. So if you want to get the most or even all of the rewards from Crystal Realm Battle, you need to have several active GvG teams. That means lots of watchtowers.

Between Resources and Monster Spawns 

As for PVE, the team has also made a few adjustments. For Tier 8 resources, they will no longer be found on territories, as they will be redistributed to the open world. But despite the removal of these resources, territories will still be fought over because they still generate siphoned energy.

Also, there will be a new version of Guardian Elementals for biomes. They will be balanced so that they can put up a worthy fight against parties of 3 to 5, and will yield a good amount of resource rewards.

Aside from Guardian Elementals, the team is also considering adding extra rare open-world mob spawns. These spawns range from small and rare creatures that can be handled solo to big open-world fights that require lots of players to be taken down.

As expected, the latter will be yielding massive rewards, so hopefully, you would encounter them and have a big and considerable team with you when you do. There will be no announcements for these spawns, so you’ll really have to find them by chance. In case you don’t, fret not for your online buddies would hopefully message you about it.

That’s So Random

Last but not least, open world dungeons are going to be randomized. The devs are currently working on a system that will randomize not only the position of dungeons, but also their content. Player groups that will roam the open world will have the chance to find these dungeons and get first dibs on the special loot inside. They’re going to be worth lots of  Albion Online Silver, so make it a point to do what you can just get your hands on them.

In case you enter one, take note that other players will be able to follow you and engage you in PVP, so be very careful and wary. However, don’t be too worried about getting camped, as the dungeons are pretty difficult to find anyway.

And much like random spawns of big monsters, players will also have the chance to find consumable maps that lead to even more difficult dungeons with much better rewards upon usage. They’ll be yielding great loots, and you’ll be much safer from other players in these dungeons, so they’re definitely worth finding.

For better or worse, the land of Albion is ever-changing. With this roadmap, it’s safe to say that it’s for the latter. So greet the future of this realm with cheerful expectation and great preparation.

Among the Disciples of Land, Botany is one of the more accessible ones, and for many good reasons! Thus, it’s highly advisable that you take it up. Here’s how you can level up and make your fair share of Gil in Final Fantasy XIV as one.

Beginning the Botanist Life

As a Botanist, you’ll be earning FFXIV Gil by using the materials you gather for the following Disciples of Hand classes:

Carpentry, Weaving, Culinarian, and Alchemy. You can also sell the materials as they are and have them purchased by other crafters for a good price. In addition to that, gathering plants is a rather calming activity, a good way to take a break from hectic questing and constant battles.

To start your life as a Botanist, talk to Fufucha at Gridania (6, 8). He’ll be giving you a low-level hatchet, signaling the beginning of your life as a botanist. Now you can start leveling and gearing up.

Leves for Leaves

As early as level 1, you can already start gathering. Take on the class quests, as well as the Level 1-5 Levequests from Gridania Adventurers’ Guild and The Bannock. Once you hit level 10, you can get level 10 Levequests from Central Shroud, Bentbranch Meadows. The next Levequests locations are as follows:

  • Level 15 – East Shroud, Hawthorne Hut
  • Level 20-25 – South Shroud, Quarrymill
  • Level 30 – Eastern La Noscea, Costa del Sol
  • Level 35 – Coerthas, Observatorium
  • Level 40 – Coerthas, Whitebrim
  • Level 45 – MorDhona
  • Level 50 – Ishgard

But don’t just be content with class quests and Levequests. You should also try your hand at rotations. Not only will this ensure that your daily grind won’t be stale; it’s also going to prepare you for the future.

It might seem a lot less convenient, but it’s now a more diverse and flexible experience. Plus, the materials you’ll be gathering at this point are going to be more useful. That means more worth in FFXIV Gil. Do note that before you start leveling up past 50, you should visit Fufucha.

The reason behind the breath of fresh air in Botany leveling after 50 is Scrips and collectibles. For this new kind of gathering, you’ll be tapping unspoiled botany nodes, which you’ll be gathering as collectibles. You’ll then hand them over to an NPC in MorDhona, which can earn you up to hundreds of thousands of EXP per unspoiled collectible Botany node.

Endgame and Business

By that point, it’s going to be a cycle until you reach level 60, when you’ll have to start buying “Regional Folklore Tomes” to unlock new Botany nodes. Keep in mind that they’re worth lots of Scrip.

Now, for the million-Gil question: What specific materials are going to earn you the most? Well, as much as we’d like to give a definite answer, it’s far too server-dependent to give one. For that, you’ll have to check the Mogboard.

However, as a basic rule, general materials used to craft basic materials are a quick and easy way to make Gil. Good examples of these are logs and cloth, as well as ingredients used for foods and potions. Heck, materials required to be turned in for Botany quests can also be quite the sell. After all, selling materials are all about selling to the lazy: you’re doing someone else’s work for their money.

When compared to other Disciples of Land, Botany is right in the middle when it comes to profitability. It could’ve been better, but it’s definitely not in a bad place. That means it’s all up to you how you’re going to make Disciple of Land work for your favor.

Escape from Tarkov is a gritty, tactical shooter where you lose your gear when you die. Gameplay revolves around the search for Escape from Tarkov Items, such as guns or armor. Players can keep them if they succeed in their bid to escape. Otherwise, they lose it all. It currently features two game modes, a high-risk survival mode, and a lower risk, no penalty mode. There are more things planned for it so look forward to changes in the future.

Play Offline

Play as one every time it’s available so you don’t lose as much as when you use your main character.

There’s no set method to farm, and what works for another won’t necessarily work for you. Go and find the best way to farm for yourself.

Get Experience

As the saying goes, ‘practice makes perfect’. You’ll have to play for hours and hours just to gain experience and improve your situational awareness skills. With that, you’ll realize when it is better to engage or simply run away. There’s also the matter of determining whether it is safe to loot a body or not, and whether to use meds or save them for later. Every situation is unique, so you have to be exposed to all kinds of circumstances to be able to react accordingly.

Survival doesn’t mean you kill all your opponents, mind you. Sometimes, it’s knowing when to stay down and retreat.

Other Tips

You should also learn how to let go of items you wanted to get but couldn’t get your hands on. There’s also the persistence to try again and again even after multiple failures. Know what’s valuable and what can be left behind. You can also participate in Escape From Tarkov trading to boost your funds.

Only you can decide how you want to play, so play how you want. Slow and steady, or fast and risky, the most important thing is to not forget to have fun. May you survive and escape Tarkov more often!

Deck building can be all sorts of things. If you’re up to the mental challenge, it can be quite fun. If you’re not sure what you want it to be, it can be perplexing, painstaking, and maybe even both. That’s usually the case when you’re attempting to build the best deck possible. After all, the “best Artifact deck” is such a lofty goal, and any attempts to achieve it can be quite daunting. To help you out with that, here are some quick tips you can follow.

The Colors of Victory

First and foremost, keep in mind that there is no such thing as an objectively best deck. It can be highly competitive, but never truly the best. All decks have shortcomings and flaws and you can only do so much to cover them. At the end of the day, the best deck you can make will only be the best for you, even if you use advanced strategies in deck-building.

Since there’s no such thing as “that one ultimate deck to end all decks”, the best deck you’ll make will be the best deck according to your deck-making ability and will have to reflect your preferred play style. If you have more than one play style, you’ll have to make many Artifact decks, with each one being the best that they can.

The colors of your heroes and your deck will determine your play style. The colors and their specialties are as follows:

  • Red – heroes and creeps that are tough and strong, focused on aggression.
  • Green – centered on mobbing the enemy with creeps; heroes are geared to bolstering its forces.
  • Blue –heroes take time to get strong but deal board-wide damage later on; creeps and spells are all about dragging the game on.
  • Black – this color is geared towards taking out enemy heroes quickly, forcing the opponent to discard cards, and earning gold faster.

Setting the Pace

The play style of decks depends on their pace. The three general kinds are the following:

  • Aggro – focused on keeping the enemy pressured right from the get-go before they can set up properly. As previously mentioned, black and red cards are geared for this.
  • Mid-range – these decks are all about having a decent start and quickly building creeps and later on strengthening their forces. This is a signature of green cards.
  • Control – despite the long setup, a control deck completely dominates the game later on through sweeping damages and other techniques. Often a technique employed by blue cards.

There’s no better color or pace over another, only something more suited to your preferences. If you want, you can even do a two-color deck in order for one color to complement the other, with both covering their respective flaws. For example, you can have a red and blue deck, which will put pressure on your enemy early on while the blue side of the deck primes for long-term control.

Mixing and Matching

Mind you, it’s not the only the nature of one color that you have to account for. You also have to cover how long it takes before a particular hero can set itself up. That means if you plan on using heroes like Luna or Zeus, you need to have your other cards cover them while you get the mana or conditions necessary to pull off their respective signature spells.

On the other hand, if you want to stick to your strengths instead of rounding out your deck, you can also go with a more synergistic approach. A good example of this is having a red and black deck, as both colors aggressively pursue an enemy and have heroes that deal much damage. The green and blue combo are also synergistic, as green’s numerous and heroes will sustain them while the blue spells and heroes slowly but surely establish dominance.
All of those, however, are general advice. That means there will be problems unique to your deck that you never know you had until you play. Some of them can be remedied by changing your deck composition. If you have the money despite the high Artifact card price, go for it. Rinse and repeat until you got that part covered.

To be the best Artifact player, you don’t have to make the best deck ever. You just need the best personal deck that you can make, and then play the best you can. All there is to it.

Maplestory 2 Mesos Archer Skill Guide

Thanks to their popularity as an archetype and their inherent ability to take out enemies from safe distances, Archers have become a staple class in RPGs. This is very much true in MapleStory 2. So if you want to channel your inner Legolas and be a sharpshooter yourself, here’s a guide on how to build one and what to spend your Maplestory 2 mesos on.

Beyond the Bow: Attributes and Gear

First things first: attributes. For the Archer, you’ll be pumping both DEX and Crit. How much you’ll put on either depends on how much damage you’ll be churning out. To get the optimal balance, you can attack the training dummies outside any guild house/hall and fine-tune your attribute points depending on the result.

As for gear, these will be the necessary bonuses each piece of gear must have. The bonuses are arranged according to priority.

Weapon:Piercing > Physical Attack > Dexterity > Boss Damage

Headgear/Suit/Top/Bottom: Boss Damage > Physical Attack > Accuracy

Gloves: Boss Damage > Physical Piercing

Shoes: Boss Damage > Accuracy

Cape: Piercing > Boss Damage

Belt: Piercing > Boss Damage

Earring/Amulet: Piercing > Boss Damage

Eagle Eye: Mad Shooting Skills

Now for the Archer skills! There are a lot of them, but we’ll only cover the class’s bread-and-butter skills, which are the following:

Rapid Shot – The archer shoots ignited arrows thrice, dealing 42% damage to the nearest enemy within 9 meters. On top of that, the arrows pierce the enemy thrice and hit the other enemies behind it. The skill will be autocast if the skill key is held down.

Arrow Storm – The archer fires a volley of arrows, dealing 39% damage 20 times to 8 enemies inside a 4.5m radius. To increase the range to 7.5m, hold the skill down for 0.5 seconds. During casting, you have knockback immunity.

Bronze Eagle – This bird serves as the archer’s companion, flying by to their side whenever they land a critical hit. The Bronze Eagle increases their Dexterity by 4.4% and becomes available for commands.

Bronze Eagle Claw – Bronze Eagle attacks the enemies, dealing 302% damage to 8 enemies. This attack also does an additional 60% damage per second for 6 seconds, and also reduces their movement and jump power by 30%.

Agile Archer (passive) – Increases piercing by 1% and evasion by 1.

Conditioning (passive) – Increases physical attack and movement speed by 1%.

Sharp Eyes – Increases critical rate of allies within 5 tiles around the archer by 13 and accuracy by 1 for 180 seconds. The seal lasts for 20 seconds, and increases the caster’s critical rate by 4.

Ice Arrow – The archer fires 3 ice arrows that deal 58% damage to enemies 9m in front of you. The ice arrows pierce the enemy 4 times and hit enemies behind the initial target. On top of that, enemies’ movement speed is lowered by 4% per hit, and can stack to a maximum of 10 times.

Simple and Reliable Archer Builds

There are two Archer skill builds. The first is the Archer All Content Sharp Eyes DPS Build. For this build, you open with Sharp Eyes for the buff, then begin the offense with Screwdriver Shot and Arrow Storm, and subsequently follow up with Rapid Shot while those are in cooldown. In addition, you can also use Bronze Eagle Claw from time to time.

If you have trouble with SP, use the Snipe passive as it gives you an SP recovery boost if there are no enemies within 4m. Also, for evasion, get Evasive Salvo, as you can’t always use Eagle Glide.

The next build would be the Archer Chaos Raid/Dungeon/World Boss Pierce Build. It’s almost similar to the first, except you’ll put more points in Sharp Eyes and Ice Arrow for this one. Sure, other offensive skills will pack a bit less of a punch, but it more than makes up in Piercing and Boss damage, as well as utility.
