While playing Old School Runescape, you will come across various methods which you can use to farm RuneScape Gold. One such method is the use of the OSRS Blast Furnace, which is an effective way for players to rack up OSRS Gold and the currency that they will require on their journey. Thankfully, the Blast Furnace is a low-level requirement way of doing so, but you’ll need to know a number of things before using it. This includes knowing exactly what the furnace is, how it works, and ultimately what you will need in order to use it.

What is the Blast Furnace?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Blast Furnace Old School Runescape, fear not as you are in the right place. Available as a members-only minigame, the Blast Furnace can be found in Keldagrim, and is used for players to smelt bars with. You can find 15 Blast Furnace worlds within OSRS, which are operated by dwarves known as Dumpty, Numpty, Pumpy, Stumpy, and Thumpy.

Essentially, all a player has to do is allow the dwarves to operate the furnace for them, so the player can use this time to place the ores back and forth onto the conveyor belt within. However, in order to use the furnace effectively, there are a number of requirements that you should keep in mind.

Requirements for the Blast Furnace

For you to be able to use the Blast Furnace, there are a few requirements that you will have to meet. First thing you will want to do is complete a particular quest, known as the Giant Dwarf quest. This will give you access to dwarven city of Keldagrim, also referred to as the home of the Blast Furnace. The second thing you’ll need is a Coal Bag, which will come in particularly handy on your quest. It is reusable, non-degradable and holds up to 27 pieces of coal, and can be accessed as a reward item from Prosepector Percy’s Nugget Shop for 100 Nuggets.

Since you’ll be doing a lot of running around in this area, it would be prudent to make sure that you take Stamina Potions with you, and considering wearing Graceful Clothing which will reduce your weight. There are a couple of other items that could speed up the process of using the furnace when you get round to it, so you should definitely keep in mind the use of the Ice Gloves and the Goldsmith Gauntlets to not just speed things up, but mainly to cover all bases depending on what kind of smithing you want to do.

When you arrive at the Blast Furnace, be sure to have level 60 Smithing, or you will need to pay a 2500-coin fee to smelt bars for 10 minutes. The Ice Gloves previously mentioned will also speed up the cooldown process, and you can reduce your initial entrance fee with the Ring of Charos. You can also choose to pay the foreman to help you along if you are below level 60 Smithing, which is worth considering. The foreman will also let you use the Blast Furnace Anvil in OSRS if you have reached level 60 Smithing, so that you can smith your bars.

How Does it Work?

To get started on the furnace, simply place your coal/ore onto the conveyor belt as previously mentioned. From there, you can use the Ice Gloves to cool them down or use a bucket of water on your smelted bars. You can then collect your bars from the dispenser and repeat the process as many times as you require with the resources that you have. The task will be completed by the assigned dwarf to that world, which costs 72,000 coins per hour.

In terms of what you can place on the belt, you are restricted to 56 primary ore and 28 gold ore. Be sure not to disconnect your game during this process as you will lose the ores that you have placed on the conveyor belt. If you want to gain some additional experience for the gold that you have smelted, then be sure to pick up the Goldsmith Gauntlets that we mentioned earlier on.

Using tools like the OSRS Account Value Calculator will give you an idea of what everything is worth, and with that in mind, there is a great money-making method at your service when it comes to the Blast Furnace. For example, Mithral Bars can fetch a profit of 708,585, making 3,600 per hour gaining XP of 108,000 per hour. If you want to go one step further, Adamantite Bars and Runite Bars will bring in profits of 1,259,385 and 1,429,335 respectively.

With how good the devs have become when it comes to walking the tightrope, it’s worth looking back on the infamously overpowered abilities that defined the Vanilla WoW metagame. Because if you’re complaining how unfair certain skills are, then imagine how mad you’d with these.

Thankfully, you won’t find them in today’s WoW Classic private server.

Divine Shield

In Vanilla WoW, this ability, which grants the Paladin invulnerability from all sources, lasts for 12 seconds. Aside from being used to tank, some Paladins can also use it to escape by casting it and then using a hearthstone, which is only worth a few WoW Classic gold, afterward. And because this was a time before skills like Mass Dispel and Shattering Throw, there was really nothing you could do if the Paladin was intent on getting away.

Frost Shock

In World of Warcraft, there’s the diminishing returns mechanic, which means the duration of an offensive spell’s particular effect gets halved the next time it is cast on the same target and then reduced to 25% before the target becomes fully immune.

The game didn’t have this at the time of Frost Shock’s heyday, a spell whose cooldown is shorter than its slow effect duration of 8 seconds. As if that’s not bad enough, Frost Shock also deals a good deal of damage.

Fear

More of a status ailment mechanic that could be exploited than skill, the issue with Fear in WoW Vanilla is that the damage threshold needed to break it isn’t a certain amount of cumulative damage, but a certain amount of damage in one sitting. Players then used damage-over-time spells so as not to break Fear.

On top of that, while there are lots of classes with access to this status ailment, the Warlocks that inflict it have no cooldown. What a horror!

Cheap Shot + Kidney Shot

This Rogue combo gave the class the ability to stun a player for a total of 10 seconds – a timeframe long enough to kill an enemy player. While it consumes a considerable amount of combo points, rogues can always drink thistle tea to pull this combo off.

Blind + Preparation

In some ways, it’s similar to the previous Rogue combo, but this is deadlier. This is done this way:

  • Cheap Shot (Vanish) twice
  • Blind
  • Wait for the duration and leave combat and re-stealth
  • Sap – this removes Diminishing Returns
  • Wait for the duration, restealth, use Preparation, which resets skill cooldowns
  • Rinse and repeat

With this combo, rogues can take out all sorts of enemies, especially players(gamer to gamer).

Curse of Elements or Shadow

These skills were considered overpowered because in-game mechanics allowed gamers or players to suffer negative resistances instead of them just dropping to zero. This means more damage dealt with by a particular elemental source. Thankfully, however, this has been changed.

Mortal Strike

A skill that scaled with weapon damage but had a much shorter cooldown that ignored weapon attack speed, Mortal Strike became a lethal skill when paired with the Arcanite Reaper, a massively powerful yet extremely slow axe. All of this, however, was fixed after weapon attack normalization, which means skills now have to follow weapon attack speeds.

Windfury

This is a shaman weapon enchantment that gives the target a 20% chance to attack two extra attacks on hit. Those chances didn’t have an internal cooldown, so the effect being triggered can also cause the skill to trigger the effect again and again within itself. On top of that, this was before weapon attack normalization was implemented!

To further kill the skill off, it was given a 3-second internal cooldown. However, somebody discovered that a different rank of Windfury stacks with another Windfury of a different rank, and the two buffs of the same spell didn’t have the same internal cooldown. This, however, has since been fixed in Burning Crusade.

Will of the Forsaken

In the beta of World of Warcraft classic, this made Undead players immune to charm, sleep, and fear. But come the actual release, Undead players were re-classed to humanoid. To make sure Undead players still had watered-down access to that legacy trait, Blizzard Entertainment gave them the racial trait called Will of the Forsaken, which cured and made them immune charm, sleep, and fear for 20 seconds. Obviously, it was too long and gave them an unfair advantage, so it was eventually cut down to 5.

Pyroblast

This is a spell that can literally be a one-shot spell if you use Presence of Mind, which removes the cooldown of the next spell, Arcane Power, which boosts spell damage at the cost of more mana, and trinkets, which increases magic damage even further.

World of Warcraft is still not perfect today, but it sure is much fairer now than it used to be. Heck, even in WoW Classic, they wouldn’t bring this back. Now, aren’t you glad that’s the case? Unless you want to try these overpowered exploits yourself.

What is The Iorwerth Dungeon?

The Iorwerth Dungeon belongs to the warriors and slayers of the Iorwerth clan. This facility is an elite training dungeon for aspiring soldiers looking to serve the military. It is located in Prifddinas’ Iorwerth district near the south-west part of the city. You will only have access to the dungeon once you have completed the Song of the Elves quest. After doing so, you then will be able to accept Slayer tasks from Konar who is located inside the dungeon.

The dungeon offers a lot more than just Slayer tasks, though. It also consists of numerous rooms, all of which contain a slew of creatures inside them that have a chance to drop crystal shards. You can also use a dwarf multi-cannon when battling against them, but the whole dungeon itself is based on single-way combat. As a surprise, you can also locate Morvran by the dungeon’s exit!

Monsters You Can Find

As you probably know by now, there are multiple rooms in theIorwerth Dungeon, all of which are rife with monsters. Here are the ones that you can find inside these rooms:

Dark Beast—Dark Beasts are monsters that can be found in the Mourner Tunnels besides in Iorwerth Dungeon. Requiring about 90 Slayerto slay, they are the only monsters that can drop Dark Bows and the Death Talisman. These Dark Beasts can attack both in Melee and Magic, and are deemed aggressive monsters from the Dark Dimension. They also have accurate melee attacks, meaning you’ll have to use a “Protect from Melee” if you don’t have much health.

Kurask—Large and heavy with sharp horns attached to its head, the Kurask is a slayer monster that can be a bit of a headache to deal with. Besides requiring 70 Slayer to even damage them, you’ll have to equip yourself with a leaf-bladed spear, leaf-bladed sword, leaf-bladed battleaxe, broad arrows, broad bolts, or magic darts. The Kurask is also immune to poison and venom. Besides that, they’re known for their drops—such as the light mystic robe top, kurask head, and leaf-bladed sword.

Nechryaels—The Nechryaels is an evil death demon that will require you to have a whopping 80 Slayer just to deal damage to them. These creatures are highly farmed for their rune boots drop. The rune boots are among the very few ones that can offer a Strength bonus when used. The Nechryaels also drop seeds and combat runes often. To deal with a Nechryaels, use Arclight to whittle down their health immediately. This is an effective strategy since they’re demonic creatures.

Waterfiend—Waterfiends are made of water and have high resistance against all forms of combat—except crush attacks. They attack players using magic projectiles that are similar to Water Blasts, they also have a magical ranged attack that resembles ice arrows. You can kill this monster with relative ease since it requires only 1 Slayer.

Bloodvelds— The “Lickitung” of Old School RuneScape, Bloodvelds are demons that use their long tongues to attack their opponents. They mostly drop mithril items and black boots, so in terms of rarity, there’s not much incentive to farm them. Bloodvelds require 50 Slayerfor you to deal damage to them.

Moss Giants—Moss Giants are commonly-seen monsters throughout the world of OSRS. They are large creatures that have a human-like resemblance to their features. While they’re not exactly ideal for those who want to farm up on OSRS gold by killing monsters, Moss Giants are what players commonly train on. This is due to their low defense capabilities.

Shooting With Style

Before you go off and start shooting, you need to know that there are three styles for Ranged, namely:

  • Accurate – With this style, you receive 3 unwritten bonus levels in ranged, making your shots more accurate. This boost makes it a recommended choice for those who have only recently taken up the skill. And for even more perks, every point of damage earns you 4 EXP in Ranged and 33 EXP in hit points.
  • Rapid – This style gives you the same EXP rates for every point of damage. It also allows you to shoot more often. Be warned, however, because your shots will be less likely to hit their marks.
  • Longrange– What makes this particular style unique is that it splits EXP bonuses to Ranged and Defence, with each receiving 2 per hit. Although it has a significantly slower rate of fire than the other two, it more than makes up for it with the 3 unwritten bonus Defence levels. Aside from utility purposes, this is for players who want to shoot two birds in one stone and level up their Defence as they grind for Ranged.

Cannon Law and its Alternatives

Now we move on to the weapons. The Ranged arsenal is a wide one, but if you want to rake in the most EXP in the shortest amount of time, here are your best options:

  • OSRS Cannon – Also known as the Dwarf Multicannon, you can use this to grind Ranged from level 1 to 80 simply by shooting caged ogres in the Combat Training Camp. It’s not only cheap, but also a fast and convenient way to grind because you no longer have to move elsewhere for a long time.
  • Throwing Knives– You throw these things to rock crabs in order to gain a steady stream of EXP. While the iron throwing knives used to be popular and are still a viable way to grind, it’s been superseded by steel and mithril knives as they offer the same attack speed and better range for less OSRS gold.
  • Mithril Darts – Upon reaching level 20, you’ll unlock Mithril Darts. Aside from their great speed and coveted bonuses, they’re also quite affordable.

Definitely Not Cannon

Once you get past level 20, here are the weapons you should use if you’re not going to stick with the OSRS Cannon.

  • Bow and Crossbow – If you want to a cheap way to level up in your early twenties, you can start with the Shortbow and Bronze Arrows. Once you reach level 28, get yourself a Dorgeshuun Crossbow. It’s a cost-effective option, as the bone bolts are only worth three coins each. Plus, with crossbows, you don’t need to finish any quests just to unlock and equip them.
  • Karil’s Crossbow – at level 70, Karil’s Crossbow is a highly underrated weapon. It fires bolt racks and is more like a shortbow, which means it has a slower rate of fire but higher damage. Also, you won’t be able to equip a shield while wielding it, but the fact that it deals so much damage more than makes up for it. Besides, you’re a Ranged user anyway so you’ll be at a safe distance.
  • Chincompas and Blowpipes – after level 80, you can then move on to Ape Atoll Dungeon and shoot chincompas and red skeletons. A blowpipe is also a good alternative.

The Elder Scrolls Online, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy XIV are currently among the most popular MMOs out there right now. With so many top-tier games to choose from, how do you pick which one to play? Do you want a good storyline? Do you look for the best combat system? What about content?

There are so many things to consider, but fortunately, we’re going to make it a little easier for you. We’ll be focusing more on the content and gameplay, so there’s no talking about the currencies (FFXIV Gil, ESO and WoW’s gold), nor any leveling up or farming guides. Each of us has different preferences, so we’ll just explore the games’ strengths and weaknesses and let you choose for yourself.

World of Warcraft

By virtue of being the “senior” among the three, we’ll go with World of Warcraft first. WoW boasts massive content, a huge world to explore, and hours upon hours of gameplay.

Strengths:

  • Has the most content
  • Good combat system
  • Class customization (to an extent)

Weaknesses:

  • No benefit to exploration
  • Raids are a little daunting for beginners
  • Content updates usually rehash old content in new environments

WoW has been going on for fifteen years. It’s has had seven expansions, bringing the level cap higher and higher to its current total of 120. Each expansion also added quests and additional activities to do. However, fatigue may be setting in, as some players have noted that new content updates are getting a little lackluster. Progression also gets slow at a certain point, and leveling becomes a sluggish, slog to 120. After that, there’s not much to do afterward, especially if you don’t like raiding and dungeoneering.

World of Warcraft is for those who won’t mind rather repetitive content and quests. Those who love raiding with others or with a guild will also enjoy this game. It is not for those who like good stories (though some zone questlines may tickle your fancy), nor those looking for varied content.

Final Fantasy XIV

FFXIV is the middle child who suffered a life-threatening accident only to be revived three years later, bigger and better than ever before. In other words, it shut down soon after its first launch due to a slew of negative reviews. In 2013, it got re-released with the subtitle A Realm Reborn, which players received more favorably. Now, it’s enjoying a sizable number of consistent subscribers who enjoy the game.

Strengths:

  • Good storyline
  • Varied quests
  • Many, many activities are available for players

Weaknesses:

  • No class customization
  • Combat is slower compared to the other two

For the record, progression is tied to the main quest. While those who like good storylines won’t mind, those who do not could end up quitting before getting to the better content. It’s neither strength nor weakness, as you can decide whether it’s something you want to sit through or not. Anyway, since the story is an important part of the game, it kind of makes or breaks the FFXIV. It has a trial version, so you may see if you can sit through the story or not. If you can, great! If not, that’s fine, you can try the other games on this list instead.

Elder Scrolls Online

Hailing from the acclaimed makers of the Elder Scrolls series, the youngest entry of the three featured games is as good as it gets. It has solid gameplay, and while it doesn’t have the scope of content that the other two have, it more than makes up for it in other ways. Like FFXIV, it had a troubled first release but was better received the second time around.

Strengths:

  • Solid combat system
  • Good progression system
  • Class customization

Weaknesses:

  • Non-linear gameplay
  • Works better as a single-player game

The game’s non-linear gameplay allows players to go wherever they want. Enemies they encounter will have levels scaled to the player’s level. It also has a different combat system than the other two, being more action-based. The two other games have tab-targeting systems, which could be something that you don’t like.

Additional Notes

World of Warcraft doesn’t have a player housing feature. It’s something to consider, especially if you like that kind of feature. ESO may be more appealing to fans of the series, similar to Final Fantasy XIV. There’s also the graphics, and whether you prefer the cartoony look (WoW), the anime look (FFXIV), or the realistic look (ESO).

Then there are the subscriptions to figure out. WoW is on a subscription basis, while the other two are free to play with limitations. You can subscribe for access to more content, as well as receive other advantages. Otherwise, you may try them out for a bit to see if they fit your preferences.

If in-game economics is your thing, doing some research on that topic would definitely help. FFXIV currency can be farmed without even fighting once. You can just focus all your time in leveling your professions and crafting things to sell. In ESO, you’re more likely to use your crafted items as there is no auction house. Player-owned shops are tied to guilds. WoW’s crafting system is abysmally bad and not even worth mentioning.

At any rate, go and pick the one that tickles your fancy the most! Sometimes, you really need to try it out for yourself to make a decision. Just make sure to enjoy the game!

SWORD AND SHIELD: FFXIV PALADIN TANKING GUIDE

So you decided to try the Paladin, the best Final Fantasy XIV  tank when it comes to damage reduction (and even prevention) as well as boss fights. Unfortunately, things might just not be going well for you, considering you’re here. No biggie because we’re here to help. So before you save up on FFXIV currency and buy a new shield, read up so you can be the stalwart defender Eorzea!

Changing Your Stance

Assuming you haven’t nailed down the basics yet, here are a few pointers that are sure to come in handy during your time as a Paladin. First is the hotly contested choice between Sword and Shield Stance. When do you use which? Well, that depends. If you’re not that confident in your ability to maintain aggro consistently, then it’d be best that you stuck with Shield Stance. While your DPS will suffer, you can at least be sure that your other party members won’t get the aggro and be killed in the process. We’re sure you already know how fast that particular situations snowball into a total wipeout that can cost you hard-earned FFXIV Gil.

On the other hand, if you can keep aggro without turning on Shield Stance, you’re better off with Sword Stance so you can help the DPS a little.

Your Heavy Rotation

Another common discussion among Paladins is the rotation. So, which one(s) should Paladins use? Here’s our take on which rotations you should use depending on the situation:

For gaining enmity:

  • Fast Blade > Savage Blade > Rage of Halone
  • Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Goring Blade
  • Fast Blade > Savage Blade > Rage of Halone
  • Fast Blade > Savage Blade > Rage of Halone

By the time you’re on the fourth rotation, you have already established enough enmity. Now you can move on to dealing either physical or magical damage.

For physical damage:

  • Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Fight or Flight (if available) > Goring Blade
  • Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Royal Authority
  • Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Royal Authority

Rinse and repeat.

For magical damage:

  • Fast Blade > Riot Blade > Goring Blade
  • Requiescat > Holy Spirit x 5

Once you have depleted your mana and Requiescat is on cooldown, switch back to dealing physical damage.

Always on the Defensive

What good would a Paladin be without non-global cooldown defensive abilities and spells? These are what make a Paladin indispensable and simply the best when it comes to taking damage. Having said that, here’s a quick rundown as well as when you should be using them.

  • Sentinel – This is the most potent non-invulnerability defensive ability in the game, reducing damage by 40% for a short time. It may not seem like much, but it’s a huge help in very sticky situations.
  • Hallowed Ground – Despite the long cooldown, it’s arguably the best invulnerability ability because of its duration and the fact that it makes you completely damage-proof.
  • Sheltron–A very helpful ability that allows you to mitigate tank-buster damage. With best-in-slot items, it can reduce up to 25-30% of one hit. Use it as often (and as properly) as possible to get the most out of it.
  • Passage of Arms – Aside from the fact that it reduces most damage taken by 15, its group bonus now activates right after casting time, and even works 5 seconds after deactivation.
  • Divine Veil – This AOE shielding ability is better than many others of its kind, so it’s highly encouraged that it’s used.

Basically, for the Paladin, the key is in knowing which ability to use and when to do so. With knowledge and practice, you’ll eventually get it. There’s more to being a Paladin than these points mentioned. Nevertheless, this is already a good start. Hopefully, you’ll be a much better protector of Eorzea from here on out.

Once again, it’s to put your best battle pets to the test with the halls of Gnomeregan! The all-new Pet Dungeon will make you want to hop on the ongoing story with your battle pets. This mini-game of sorts has become quite a huge hit to the World of Warcraft audience. This turn-based strategy game was born out of the idea of capturing monsters and subsequently training them. The rewards are a great source of WoW gold, so don’t miss this chance.

Here, we’re going to take an in-depth look at this dungeon and guide you through until the very end.

How Do I Get to Gnomeregan?

To get started on your journey, you’ll first need to earn the achievement “All Growns Up!” which requires you to raise a pet to level 25. From there, a new quest should appear to you from RadekFuselockwho is located near the pet battle trainers in Dazar’alor. If you’re from the Alliance, you can talk to Tizzy Gearjoly who is located just outside of Dana Pull’s shop near Hook Point in Boralus. From there, they’ll both send you to Micro Zoox who is just outside the instance portal forGnomeregan. Once you reach that point, your quest will promptly begin.

Do I Need to Complete the Other Battle Dungeons First?

No. Luckily, you won’t need to complete the other dungeons like Wailing Caverns or Deadmines pet battle dungeons to gain access. Plus, with the release of the Tides of Vengeance update, you can play the three pet battle dungeons in any order that you prefer!

Are There Any Different Difficulties?

There are two separate difficulties in pet battle dungeons in general: Normal and Challenge mode. In the normal difficulty setting, when faced with a monster, you can heal or revive your pets any time and have at least one pet leveled at 25 for you to start the dungeon. In Challenge mode, however, it’s much more difficult. You cannot heal or revive your pets with Battle Pet Bandage or Revive Battle Pets at any time, and you must have at least 15 pets leveled up to 25 for you to unlock this mode. Furthermore, you need to complete the Normal mode of this dungeon for you to gain access to Challenge mode. But the great thing about Challenge mode is you can do it weekly and it will give you a reward upon completion, unlike in the Normal mode where you won’t gain additional rewards once you’ve finished it.

A quick tip for players who are looking to get into the Challenge mode is that if your pets die and you have no replacement pets, you can remedy this logging onto a different character in WoW and use Battle Pet Bandage or Revive Battle Pets. You can then log back in with you still in the dungeon and your pets healed.

What Quest Rewards Do I Get?

If you complete the dungeon in Normal mode for the first time, you’ll be getting an Ultimate Battle-Training Stone. In addition to that, you’ll also be receiving the Manapool’s aid at any time to teleport directly to the Gnomeregan’s dungeon entrance. However, there won’t be any rewards unlike the first time if you try to complete the dungeon once more in Normal mode,.

A player’s choice of class in any MMO is crucial. After all, you’ll be stuck as that class for the rest of your playthrough of the game—barring games that allow class switching. Maplestory 2 isn’t in that latter category though, so choosing a class is something that needs careful consideration.

Some of the classes in MP2 may need more Maplestory 2 Mesos to get the best out of its skills and abilities. However, if you’re the type to enjoy absolutely destroying bosses as fast as you can, that’s not really going to be an issue.

Without further ado, here are the five best classes for PvM in Maplestory 2.

Heavy Gunner

Heavy Gunner is a good PvM-focused class. It has the fastest clear times, provided the player knows how to properly cycle through their skills. When they do, the damage they can dish out is massive. However, if the enemy zips around the map, it gets hard to hit. They’re also a bit lacking in terms of options for mobility. If you’re up for the challenge, however, it can be a very rewarding choice.

Wizard

Wizards deal greater damage per hit. They’re a crowd control class with many area-of-effect spells. For all its potential to deal much damage, it has low defense. A handy teleport skill is its best friend to avoid enemy attacks. Just be careful when you use the skill, as it could cancel the spell you’re casting. While it’s a beginner-friendly class, some of its combos do need some technical skills to pull off.

Assassin

Assassins rely on critical hits for their high burst damage. They’re really mobile and attacks at mid-range. It’s a good thing, as they don’t really have much health. One or two hits from a boss (especially the stronger ones) can knock them down for the count. Overall, assassins need players who are good at judging distance and avoiding enemy attacks. They’re the straight-up heavy damage dealers.

Berserker

Berserkers have the highest HP and can dish out damage like no other. However, being a melee class means you have to go up close and personal to the enemy. For some bosses, that almost certainly spells suicide! There’s also the difficulty of keeping up stacks of their passive buff. When you’re able to figure out a strategy for that though, you’re rewarded with the highest damage a melee class can reach.

Runeblade

Runebladesare mid-ranged fighters who enchant their swords with ice, fire, or storm elements. They have good mobility and have the most visually-pleasing skills. Depending on how you build them, you can be a crowd controller, a damage dealer, or a support character. A highly-versatile character, it can also be a little difficult when you’re trying to dodge attacks while spamming skills.

Of course, that’s only for the damage dealing classes. If you’d rather support your friends, Priests or Soul Binders might be closer to your preference. It all depends on your preference. Take the time to learn about the pros and cons of each class and ask yourself exactly how you want to play. There are multiple character slots so you can start again if the class isn’t what you expected. At any rate, it’s more important that you enjoy the game.

Path to the Future: Albion Online Roadmap

Albion Online has been released for quite some time now. So much so that even its most loyal fans are now starting to ask; what’s next for the ambitiously unorthodox MMO? The answer: A lot. The team has numerous plans for the game to be bigger and better as time goes on. Check out the roadmap and see what’s in store for Albion Online in the near and not-so-near future.

Fight for the Crystal

First off the list would be improvements and new content for both PVP and open world. There is more focus on the former, especially in Guild versus Guild (GVG). That is because GvG is the highlight of high-level guild gameplay. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen often enough, so to promote it and make it more accessible, they’re introducing the Crystal Realm GvG Battles.

To participate, guilds must have a watchtower. One watchtower means one battle slot for one of their teams in a Crystal Realm Battle.

For this particular GvG battle, there will be two timezone groups, and each territory will be in either of these groups depending on its prime time. All fights within a particular timezone will take place at the same time. So if you want to get the most or even all of the rewards from Crystal Realm Battle, you need to have several active GvG teams. That means lots of watchtowers.

Between Resources and Monster Spawns 

As for PVE, the team has also made a few adjustments. For Tier 8 resources, they will no longer be found on territories, as they will be redistributed to the open world. But despite the removal of these resources, territories will still be fought over because they still generate siphoned energy.

Also, there will be a new version of Guardian Elementals for biomes. They will be balanced so that they can put up a worthy fight against parties of 3 to 5, and will yield a good amount of resource rewards.

Aside from Guardian Elementals, the team is also considering adding extra rare open-world mob spawns. These spawns range from small and rare creatures that can be handled solo to big open-world fights that require lots of players to be taken down.

As expected, the latter will be yielding massive rewards, so hopefully, you would encounter them and have a big and considerable team with you when you do. There will be no announcements for these spawns, so you’ll really have to find them by chance. In case you don’t, fret not for your online buddies would hopefully message you about it.

That’s So Random

Last but not least, open world dungeons are going to be randomized. The devs are currently working on a system that will randomize not only the position of dungeons, but also their content. Player groups that will roam the open world will have the chance to find these dungeons and get first dibs on the special loot inside. They’re going to be worth lots of  Albion Online Silver, so make it a point to do what you can just get your hands on them.

In case you enter one, take note that other players will be able to follow you and engage you in PVP, so be very careful and wary. However, don’t be too worried about getting camped, as the dungeons are pretty difficult to find anyway.

And much like random spawns of big monsters, players will also have the chance to find consumable maps that lead to even more difficult dungeons with much better rewards upon usage. They’ll be yielding great loots, and you’ll be much safer from other players in these dungeons, so they’re definitely worth finding.

For better or worse, the land of Albion is ever-changing. With this roadmap, it’s safe to say that it’s for the latter. So greet the future of this realm with cheerful expectation and great preparation.

Among the Disciples of Land, Botany is one of the more accessible ones, and for many good reasons! Thus, it’s highly advisable that you take it up. Here’s how you can level up and make your fair share of Gil in Final Fantasy XIV as one.

Beginning the Botanist Life

As a Botanist, you’ll be earning FFXIV Gil by using the materials you gather for the following Disciples of Hand classes:

Carpentry, Weaving, Culinarian, and Alchemy. You can also sell the materials as they are and have them purchased by other crafters for a good price. In addition to that, gathering plants is a rather calming activity, a good way to take a break from hectic questing and constant battles.

To start your life as a Botanist, talk to Fufucha at Gridania (6, 8). He’ll be giving you a low-level hatchet, signaling the beginning of your life as a botanist. Now you can start leveling and gearing up.

Leves for Leaves

As early as level 1, you can already start gathering. Take on the class quests, as well as the Level 1-5 Levequests from Gridania Adventurers’ Guild and The Bannock. Once you hit level 10, you can get level 10 Levequests from Central Shroud, Bentbranch Meadows. The next Levequests locations are as follows:

  • Level 15 – East Shroud, Hawthorne Hut
  • Level 20-25 – South Shroud, Quarrymill
  • Level 30 – Eastern La Noscea, Costa del Sol
  • Level 35 – Coerthas, Observatorium
  • Level 40 – Coerthas, Whitebrim
  • Level 45 – MorDhona
  • Level 50 – Ishgard

But don’t just be content with class quests and Levequests. You should also try your hand at rotations. Not only will this ensure that your daily grind won’t be stale; it’s also going to prepare you for the future.

It might seem a lot less convenient, but it’s now a more diverse and flexible experience. Plus, the materials you’ll be gathering at this point are going to be more useful. That means more worth in FFXIV Gil. Do note that before you start leveling up past 50, you should visit Fufucha.

The reason behind the breath of fresh air in Botany leveling after 50 is Scrips and collectibles. For this new kind of gathering, you’ll be tapping unspoiled botany nodes, which you’ll be gathering as collectibles. You’ll then hand them over to an NPC in MorDhona, which can earn you up to hundreds of thousands of EXP per unspoiled collectible Botany node.

Endgame and Business

By that point, it’s going to be a cycle until you reach level 60, when you’ll have to start buying “Regional Folklore Tomes” to unlock new Botany nodes. Keep in mind that they’re worth lots of Scrip.

Now, for the million-Gil question: What specific materials are going to earn you the most? Well, as much as we’d like to give a definite answer, it’s far too server-dependent to give one. For that, you’ll have to check the Mogboard.

However, as a basic rule, general materials used to craft basic materials are a quick and easy way to make Gil. Good examples of these are logs and cloth, as well as ingredients used for foods and potions. Heck, materials required to be turned in for Botany quests can also be quite the sell. After all, selling materials are all about selling to the lazy: you’re doing someone else’s work for their money.

When compared to other Disciples of Land, Botany is right in the middle when it comes to profitability. It could’ve been better, but it’s definitely not in a bad place. That means it’s all up to you how you’re going to make Disciple of Land work for your favor.
