Top 5 Most Useful OSRS Items

Top 5 Most Useful OSRS Items

Just because certain items are great doesn’t mean you should break the bank just to purchase them. While expensive items in the game are oftentimes the ones being highlighted, we decided to do the exact opposite. We’ll be showing you the most useful items in OSRS; the ones that you don’t have to shell out a lot of Old School RuneScape Gold (OSRS gold) for. What with Old School RuneScape being one of the oldest MMORPGs around, it can be tough to find actual items that give the most bang for your buck considering there’s a lot to sift through. With that being said, let’s get started!

  1. Fire Cape

The Fire Cape is by far one of the most useful items in OSRS, and with good reason. This cape can be obtained as a reward when you complete the TzHaar Fight Cave. Not to be outclassed by the more powerful (and more expensive) Infernal Cape, the Fire Cape is considered to be the second-best melee cape in all of Old School RuneScape. Why is it so popular you ask? Well, it’s because of the bonuses it gives. By giving a +1 Attack bonus on all types of weapons and +11 Defense bonuses for all armor, you really can’t go wrong. The Fire Cape isn’t tradeable, though, so you won’t find it in the Grand Exchange. The good news is it’s easily obtainable by surviving all of the waves of monsters inside the Fight Cave.

  1. Rune Equipment

Rune items such as Rune axes, Rune platelegs, and Rune swords are highly-sought items in the free-to-play version of OSRS. While these are considered to be the best equipment in free-to-play worlds, they’re also great for members. Originally, they were deemed as expensive for F2P players. But things took a turn for the better after a while as prices began to drop rapidly due to the mini-game “Treasure Trails” gaining popularity. The surge in popularity resulted in these items being sold at low prices since there was suddenly too much of them. So, if you’re low on cash and in need of some good equipment, then you can easily find these in the Grand Exchange for just less than 500 OSRS gold each!

  1. Super Restore Potions

Potions are a staple in not just MMO games, but in other genres as well. In Old School RuneScape, there are tons of variations for this beloved item, but the one that you should go for is the Super Restore potion. This type of potion is incredibly useful as it can restore all of your stats that have been lowered either through combat or whatnot. Although it doesn’t restore Hitpoints or run energy, it’s a handy item to always have in your inventory during dire situations. At a price margin of 100-300 gold, it’s hard to NOT have this item under your belt at all times.

  1. Dragon Scimitar

The Dragon Scimitar is known to be one of the strongest scimitars in OSRS. While it can look expensive at about 100,000 gold if you purchase it from Daga of Ape Atoli, you can score it cheaper by buying one from the Grand Exchange instead. This weapon is great for pking (player killing), so if you’re into that, then we highly recommend that you include it in your must-buy list.

  1. Barrows Gloves

You’ve probably heard about Barrows Gloves from other people while surfing on the OSRS reddit page. The reason these gloves are always being recommended to players is that they offer the best offensive bonuses compared to any other gloves, period. This item isn’t something that you can easily get your hands on, though, as they require you to have at least 41 Defense before you can even equip them.
