What to Expect in Fortnite Season 2: Chapter 8

What to Expect in Fortnite Season 2: Chapter 8

At long last, the alien invasion is finally over! That being said though, Fortnite’s island is full of…cubes? We always get a certain theme when it comes to starting with a new season, and this time, when Season 8 launched, it was simply called “Cubed”.

While we won’t get into the nitty-gritty of how the story is going so far because of its intricacy, the basic premise is that the cubes that were used to power the alien mothership that used to abduct players has now been set free, resulting in the cubes wreaking havoc on the island.

Besides that though, players can expect a combination of new weapons, locations, characters, and skins in the Fortnite Item Shop. Heck, there are even portals that transport players into a monster-filled realm. So just what can we expect in Season 2: Chapter 8 of Fortnite? Let’s find out.

The Season 8 Battle Pass: Same Old, Same Old

When talking about the Battle Pass in Fortnite, it’s pretty much the same thing every time. Veterans will be happy to know that the Season 8 Battle Pass will come at a familiar price point of 950 V-Bucks or approximately $10 for those that want to unlock all of the premium goodies. The free Battle Pass is available for everyone, but they won’t be able to get the more wanted items such as skins that aren’t available in the Fortnite Item Shop.

For those that want to skip the grind, they have the option to avail the premium track of the Battle Pass which costs 2,800 V-Bucks or approximately $25. This lets players skip 25 tiers in an instant, thereby granting them the ability to start their grind to tier 100 a quarter of the way through already.

The Season 8 Battle Pass will be coming with all sorts of unique items that players can collect. From villainous skins such as Carnage down to ultra-vibrant unicorns, there’s a lot to cover in terms of variety. Marvel characters have always popped in and out of Fortnite, so it’s no surprise to have Carnage in for the ride. There are also the likes of characters that are unique to the storyline in Fortnite such as Charlotte and Fabio Sparklemane. Exclusive content is given in abundance to Fortnite players this time for those that get the premium Battle Pass, and the best part of all this is that they can earn free V-Bucks along the way that’s enough to purchase the next season’s Battle Pass.

It’s like a neverending cycle of getting free Battle Passes after every season!

A New Element

Perhaps the biggest change that’s coming to Season 8 is that there’s a new element coming called “The Sideways”. Described as a “monster-filled reality” that’s “dark” and “malevolent”, it’s what’s being spread by the cubes that are now creating chaos within Fortnite’s island. Players will be able to access them by entering through portals. With the addition of monster NPCs called Cube Monsters, features will include low gravity and the inability to build anything. This will certainly impact the different island locations.

At the very least, there’s still some fun to be had with “The Sideways” in the form of new weapons. Players can craft and create superpowered “sideways” weapons in Season 8 by accumulating a new crafting component from those areas. These new materials are called Cube Monster Parts. Oh, and don’t forget, classic guns such as the harpoon gun and automatic sniper rifle will be making a comeback.

This Means War

With the fate of the island up to the players, it’s your job to protect it. Since Season 8 is all about an all-out war against the Cubes, support from far and wide is needed if players want to secure a future for their beloved island. Since there will be fellow Loopers (players that go in and out of the portals) across the island, you have the option to donate the Bars that you earn to certain construction sites where Turret Stations will be built.

Final Thoughts

It’s certainly a bizarre time for Fortnite players this time around. With Chapter 2: Season 8 all about fighting back against the Cubes, one would think that the alien invasion that we had in the last season was so much better. Sure they abducted players into their mothership, but they at least gave them enhancements that ultimately buffed them.

But hey, at least there are some cool exclusive skins in the Battle Pass that aren’t available in the Fortnite Item Shop!

Fortnite & G.I. Joe: A Collaboration Between Real American Heroes

Fortnite & G.I. Joe: A Collaboration Between Real American Heroes

Snake Eyes makes a stealthy appearance!

For decades now, no other franchise has encapsulated the true essence of patriotism and love of country as much as G.I. Joe. From the animated series (and subsequent movies) right down to the toys and various merchandise, G.I. Joe has managed to stir feelings of heroism among the youth of the country.

This time around, G.I. Joe makes a long-awaited comeback to mainstream culture via Fortnite, the sensational Battle Royale game. We’re talking, of course, of the recently unveiled Snake Eyes skin. Load up on Fortnite weapons and read on to find out more about this epic (pun intended) collab between Epic Games’ Fortnite and the Real American Heroes.

Who is Snake Eyes?

G.I. Joe has introduced a host of characters that have become mainstays in the lives of the American youth. But perhaps no other character has been as loved and revered as the enigmatic Snake Eyes. After all, he’s a kickass ninja that’s pretty much a one-man army. As the team’s original commando, much of his personal info has remained classified throughout the years. What is known is that he had taken a vow of silence when his martial arts master was murdered in cold blood by his nemesis, Storm Shadow.

Fortnite x G.I. Joe

Fans of both Fortnite and G.I. Joe franchises will be glad to know that Snake Eyes, the most enigmatic and charismatic character to ever grace G.I. Joe is now available as a skin on Fortnite. Players who avail of the full set will receive a number of goodies on top of the skin. These include the Katana Back Bling as well as the Katana Pickaxe. On top of that, Hasbro has naturally joined the fun and is releasing a real-life action figure based on Snake Eyes’ character design in Fortnite.

Zero Point Edition Action Figure

For a mere $39.99, G.I. Joe fans can get their paws on a Snake Eyes action figure complete with his signature Morning Light katana with a sheath inspired by the G.I. Joe universe. On top of that, exclusive Fortnite goodies such as the Boogie Bomb, Chiller Grenade, Clinger, Grenade, Harpoon Launcher, and Mythic Shockwave Launcher will be included. If all that sounds too good to be true, it’s because there’s a slight catch. The Snake-Eyes figure won’t be available for shipping until mid-January 2022. This will be well beyond the release of the highly-anticipated Snake Eyes film (starring Henry Golding as the lead character) which will grace theaters by October of this year.

A Long Line of Snake Eyes toys

Snake Eyes’ popularity among the youth is readily apparent. And this can be seen in the massive sales numbers generated by his action figure in the original G.I. Joe toyline. Though most of the figures from the ‘80s wave shared similar parts, Snake Eyes’ head sculpt was still uniquely his own. The second wave of the figure came a few years after and it included Timber, his wolf.

Fortnite and Pop Culture

Fortnite has made quite a habit out of incorporating well-known pop culture characters into the game. Aside from Snake Eyes, other notables who have graced the phenomenal Battle Royale title are Sarah Connor and the ominous T-800 from the Terminator franchise The Predator has also wowed Fortnite fans recently and we can only assume that Epic Games will continue to release special skins to satiate the fans’ hunger for cool fandom crossovers.

Now that you know, you’ve pretty much won half the battle. It’s time to get your very own Snake Eyes skin from the trusty Fortnite item shop! All that’s left is for you to don the classic G.I. Joe character’s skin and thrust yourself headlong into battle. Now go out there and give us your most convincing “Yo Joe”!

What do you think of the new Fortnite Snake Eyes skin? Will you be copping it or will you make a hard pass? If so, which other G.I. Joe characters would you like to see in Fortnite in the near future? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Fortnite – Controller Tips You Should Know About

Fortnite – Controller Tips You Should Know About

If you happen to play Fortnite using a controller, then there are ways in which you can improve your game. There are a number of changes that you can make that will make you a more efficient player with your Fortnite weapons, building, and more. So before you pay a visit to the Fortnite item shop and hop on the battle bus, you should pay a visit to your settings.

Build Sensitivity

What makes Fortnite stand out from the crowd is the building aspect within the game. The quicker that you can build, the better opportunity that you will have at surviving. With that in mind, you want to make sure that your build sensitivity sits around 1.9, and no higher than 2.1. This will ultimately give you more control over your building, with it not being too quick to use but will build effectively.

Fixing Your Aim

Another very important part of Fortnite, given that it’s a battle royale game, is shooting or more specifically, your aim. If you want to be the best shooter you can be, then you will want to set your sensitivity to what works for you. One way that you can work with improving your aim is with your thumbsticks. Having thumbsticks that cater to your playstyle can be a sure path to victory.

For more long-range weapons such as sniper rifles, then taller thumbsticks can work well to get the accuracy that you are looking for. Shorter domed thumbsticks meanwhile can help with short-range weapons such as shotguns.

Looting

Whilst looting is important, you need to be doing it in an effective manner. To make sure that your efficiency is as high as possible, then you should first switch on Tap to Search/Interact, which will allow you to find and grab items at the tap of a button, rather than holding a button-down. Then you should organize your inventory by prioritizing the items that you will need at short notice to the front of your backpack. This includes your weapons of choice, for both long and short-range options. Having these options at the tap of a button could be the difference between winning and losing.

Weapons Cycle

Speaking of Fortnite weapons, you are going to find yourself wanting to cycle through your weaponry as quickly as you can. Many will use SCUF controllers for these kinds of situations, and you can use your controller paddle for a way in which to switch between weapons quickly when pinned down in a firefight. If you want something that’s as close to a mouse approach as possible, then Digital Tap Bumpers allow you to click quickly as you would using a mouse.

Be Aware of Your Surroundings

As you will have noticed with each passing season, the landscape often changes depending on what theme is introduced. With that in mind, you should take the time to see what’s different, and how it can be used to your advantage. See if there are any special vantage points, familiarise yourself with using unique new features such as traveling across water, using vehicles, and more.

Take these tips into account and you will find yourself building far more efficiently, and will be making the most of your Fortnite weapons. Your settings may not always be at the forefront of your priorities, but they can be a true difference-maker if you can adapt your style of play. When you have done so, you can expect to be racking up the victory royales in no time.

Why Fortnite is the Best Battle Royale Game

Why Fortnite is the Best Battle Royale Game

It’s debatable whether or not Fortnite is the first battle royale game. What’s uncontested is the fact that it’s the best battle royale game in existence—at least so far. The release of Epic Games’ sensational title not only reshaped what video games are supposed to be; it also gave birth to the surging esports and streaming phenomenon. While Fortnite was first announced in 2011, it wasn’t until 2017 that it first went public.

The success that Epic Games has gained with their prized release wasn’t, by any means, easy to come by though. In fact, not many gamers paid attention to the soon-to-be hit at first! But with a few tweaks, added modes, and a Fortnite item shop that re-engineered the way how microtransactions should be handled, Fortnite steadily gained popularity and soon amassed millions of fans around the world.

We’ll be taking a look at why Fortnite is arguably the best battle royale game ever made. If the game piqued your interest, then read on!

Baby Steps

Fortnite started out as a retail product and it wasn’t until the battle royale mode was added that Epic Games declared that the game was going to be free-to-play. Fortnite retailed for $40 and only had the “Save the World” mode that didn’t exactly hook the players’ interest. Not to mention that they had microtransactions stuffed to the gills which turned the players off even more. Back then, Fortnite looked like the games that would quickly be forgotten after a short burst of hype. Games are a dime a dozen after all and it’s easy to get lost within a sea of games that get released on a daily basis.

It wasn’t until PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, a battle royale game made by Korean developer Bluehole, when Epic Games tried to come up with its own version of the genre. These two games duked it out for the top spot of the genre. Whereas PUBG was a game that featured realistic graphics that seemed militaristic, Fortnite was more light-hearted, silly, and had cartoon-ey graphics. Thus, the “Save the World” mode was no longer in the spotlight, and Fortnite’s battle royale mode took on the reigns to become the game that would become a must-play for kids as well as the kids at heart.

Fortnite’s Advertising is On Point

To further make an impact on the genre, Fortnite made some keen advertising moves that were some of the best that any gaming company has made. A great example would be when they made a John Wick skin and even had the hitman’s home in Paradise Palms back in Season 9. This move promoted the movie John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Did we mention that Thanos was made part of the game for a short period of time as well thanks to the Avengers Endgame movie? And who could forget when Marshmello hosted an in-game concert where almost 11 million players attended? Needless to say, the advertising campaign for Fortnite is one of the best that we’ve seen so far from developers.

There’s Always Something New

The great thing about Fortnite is they always try to stay relevant. Patches and updates are normal for online games to have, but Epic Games decided to step up even further by providing weekly updates. While it can be a hassle for the players since they always have to update their game in Epic’s client, the unpredictability of what Epic brings in to the table routinely shakes up the gameplay. In some weeks, there’ll just be a new item or two that’ll be added, but there will also be some cases wherein an entire area could be added while another would be altogether removed. Besides the new skins that they consistently churn out, the lengths that Epic Games has gone through for Fortnite shows how dedicated they are to their craft—and the fans reciprocate with their loyalty.

And those are the reasons why we think that Fortnite is the best battle royale game to date! While it’s true that there are also contenders like PUBG and Apex Legends, Fortnite is the game we argue that everyone knows about. Apart from the tons of skins that the Fortnite item shop brings in, there’s a lot to like about the game! What about you? Do you consider Fortnite to be the best of its genre? A Dummy’s Guide to Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2

A Dummy’s Guide to Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2

Chapter 2: Season 2 of Fortnite finally landed just as February is about to close. Season 1 was a bit of a drag, especially for players who game on Battle Royale Fortnite daily. It was hard to say what Epic Games had in store for us, but now that the cat’s finally out of the bag, we can dive straight into the goods. So what’s the theme for this new season? Will there be any changes in the map and added Fortnite items that can alter the way we play the game? Find out the answer to those questions and so much more!

New Seasons Means New Skins

Every new season in Epic Games Fortnite comes with high-quality Fortnite skins and new emotes that players can flaunt whenever they gain a victory. It’s only the start of Chapter 2: Season 2, so only a limited number of skins have currently been announced—but there should be more to follow during mid-season and some surprise twists that weren’t expected. Currently, here’s the line-up of skins that you can get through the Battle Pass immediately and/or by grinding until you’ve reached a certain level in the pass:

  • Gears Specialist Maya
  • Agent Peely
  • Meowscles
  • TNTina
  • Brutus
  • Skye
  • Midas
  • Deadpool

You can also earn the gold variants for these skins by leveling up while the season is still ongoing. Here are the levels that you need to reach before the season ends to acquire the skins:

Skin Level That You Need
Brutus (gold variant) Level 140
Meowscles (gold variant) Level 180
TNTina (gold variant) Level 220
Skye (gold variant) Level 260
Agent Peely (gold variant) Level 300

There are also back blings that you can collect should you purchase the Battle Pass. These accessories go together with the designated skins that we’ve just discussed. For example, the Banana Briefcase accessory goes well with Agent Peely. While the Feline Pack is meant for Meowscles. However, you don’t really have automatically pair these backpacks to the skins that they’re meant to go with. If you’d rather mix and match to create your own style, the option is also available.

What’s The Theme for This Season?

The theme for Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 revolves around spies, secret agents, and being able to create your own narrative with the choices that you make. The interface of the battle pass has been revamped into a headquarters for spies, with the background music sounding like something that came out of a James Bond movie.

During the introduction of the new season, you’ll be given a choice between the two competing factions to join:Ghost and Shadow. Whichever faction you choose will ultimately set the tone for the rest of the game as you’ll get to unlock different variants of the Battle Pass skins that we mentioned. Another highlight of Season 2 is that you can battle bosses within the game. Raiding some of the spy headquarters that can be found all around the map can reward you with the best weapons that the game can offer.

What We Didn’t Expect

If there’s one thing that we didn’t expect, it’s the collaboration between Fortnite and Marvel. Granted Epic Games has already teamed up with them in the past, specifically during the launch of the movie “Avengers: Endgame”. The collaboration between these two ended up being one of the best things to happen for Fortnite Battle Royale players as it brought Thanos to the game. Plus, players got to use the Infinity Gauntlet (at least for a while). This time, Deadpool will be an unlockable skin that players can use in-game!

Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2 is just getting started, and with so many new Fortnite items and skins along the way, who knows what’ll pop up next? So, what’s your favorite thing about the new season so far? Let us know by leaving a comment below!

Significant Changes Made in Fortnite Chapter 2

Significant Changes Made in Fortnite Chapter 2

It’s been years since the release of Fortnite. You’d expect that the battle royale genre would’ve been finished by now, but Fortnite still stands strong today with millions of players in its fan base. Unlike other similar battle royale games launch like Realm Royal and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that seem to have fallen off the people’s radar, Epic Games is still churning out seasonal content such as new Fortnite items, skins, emotes, and other such creative ways to make the battle pass better. So, what has changed in Fortnite chapter since then? Find out as we talk all about that and more. If you want to know more about Fortnite accounts, feel free to have a look at our Fortnite Account Calculator as well!

What’s Chapter 2 in Fortnite?

Fortnite Chapter 2 is basically the accumulation of what Epic has learned in the last ten seasons. Epic promises that Fortnite Chapter 2 will be more accessible, have an easier learning curve without sacrificing any depth, and finally, more fun for everyone. Since the start of Chapter 2, they’ve added several tweaks such as limiting the use of vehicles by only making boats available as well as balanced changes the game in the DPS of certain weapons. There’s not a lot of meat on the bone for now, but we can expect biggest changes as the game progresses this year. For now, here’s a look at the significant changes to Fortnite that have been made in Fortnite Chapter 2:

There’s No Need to Return to the Lobby after Every Match

Before, you’d have to return to the lobby first after the game and queue up again on the main menu. This can be annoying, especially when the game ends for you immediately (this happens most of the time if you land into a location that’s full of players). But now, you can get back into the groove right away and queue up immediately once you’ve died in the game! This is not only a great time-saver, but your flow will no longer be disrupted.

Swimming Might Save Your Life

If you’re still outside of the circle and the clock is ticking, then swimming might just save your life. While swimming back then wasn’t such a big deal since you tend to go slower compared to running, it’s now a different case. When swimming, you can use the jump button. This will make your character dive underwater and leap back out. Once you get into the rhythm of it, it’ll now give you a nice speed boost. Besides that, diving can make you harder to hit if there are any opponents trying to snipe you. So the next time you’re in a tight bind, look for a lake or a river course to swim your way out of trouble!

Get a Free Shield in the Slurpy Swamp

If you can’t find a shield jug anywhere during the first few minutes of the game, then why not stop by Slurpy Swamp if you’re nearby? Blue goo can be found all over this location, and it’s unlimited! Just find a glowing riverbed around the area and submerge yourself in it. This will slowly heal you back to full health and even your shield meter! There are also vats filled with this magical goo that you can destroy with your pickaxe, so call in your friends beforehand to let everyone have a health and shield!

Conclusion

Since Chapter 2 is just starting, we can expect more major changes and even possibly new named locations to be added to the map changed. Chapter 2 Season 1 of Fortnites battle is almost at its end and it’s looking like Epic is ready to shake things up once more. What are you expecting for Season 2? Helpful Tips: How to Get Better at Fortnite

Helpful Tips: How to Get Better at Fortnite

Fortnite has great players in abundance. Chances are, you’ve already squared up against them in a game or two. If you still haven’t seen significant improvements despite pouring in dozens of hours playing the game or watching popular streamers/pro players, you’re probably frustrated. We understand this completely. Fortnite isn’t just some battle royale game where you can only shoot down your opponents; you also have to take your building skills into account. So without further ado, we’ll be showing you some useful tips to make you better at playing Fortnite and using certain Fortnite items. If you want to buy or sell a Fortnite account instead, you can have a look at our Fortnite Account Calculator.

Don’t Land in Usually Populated Areas

Most players rush to known areas such as Tilted Towers since it’s filled with items and weapons. While you can land there during the start of the game, chances are you’ll be dead after a few minutes since are so many opponents to fend off. As you get off the battle bus, you should take the opportunity to scan your surroundings to see how many players are within your vicinity. If there are too many people, you can simply change the direction and avoid them altogether. This increases your chances to survive until late in the game, and it also gives you ample time to scavenge good weapons.

Farm Mats Early Game

The worst thing that can happen while you’re in the thick of a fight is running out of materials. Building is what makes Fortnite so special, and to not be able to fully utilize it is a shame. To avoid this, farm the materials that you need as early as you can. We recommend whipping out your pickaxe as soon as you land in the area of your choice and start mowing things down. Whether it’s inside a house/building or the trees/rocks outside, get as many materials as you can. Don’t overdo it though, you don’t want it to take too much of your time. You’ll be able to collect the materials of enemies as well once you kill them, so your mats will increase over time until they max out.

Lower Your DPI

This is the tip that people often overlook. Lowering your sensitivity (whether you’re playing using a keyboard and mouse combo or a controller) will help you steady your aim for better accuracy during sniping sessions. Sometimes, this simple yet effective tweak is the answer to most players’ problems. It may take some getting used to if you normally play on a high DPI level, but trust us on this, it’ll level up your skills significantly once you grow accustomed to it.

Listen Carefully

Listening carefully can save your life multiple times. We recommend using headphones while playing, but the audio in Fortnite is already great even without using one, so it’s fine if you don’t have a headset lying around. Sounds such as footsteps, gunshots, and more should be treated as valuable info in a game such as Fortnite. This will minimize instances where opponents can get the jump on you and catch you off-guard.

Conclusion

While all of these tips can certainly help you, what will really make them effective is to have the willingness to learn. There are powerful Fortnite items that can be found all over the map, but they won’t be effective if you can’t use them well. We hope our tips and tricks will help you get better and will ultimately help you turn pro! Are there any tips that you’d like to pass on to budding Fortnite players? Spruce Up Your Fortnite Account With Season 9 Stuff

Fortnite’s latest season brought with it a plethora of cosmetic items, challenges, and features. Of course, if you’re aiming to raise the numbers on a Fortnite account calculator, the former is all you need to know about. Then again, to collect those skins, you’re going to have to complete challenges. To complete challenges, you might need to make use of the new features.

However, that’s a topic for a different article. This one will just be about the skins, back items, and gliders the season brought with it.

Skins/Clothing

There are seven new skins, and they all look awesome. Roxlets your avatar give a sporty vibe, complete with glowing neon patterns. Sentinel gives you a Gundamesque look. Bunker Jonesy lets you rock the hobo look, complete with an almost floor-length beard and missing boot. Vega is chic with the explorer look while Stratus looks like he’s just about ready to drop sick beats.

Demi puts your character in a sleek red dress reminiscent of Ada from Resident Evil. She does not, however, have a mechanical arm like the skin. The last skin, Vendetta, wouldn’t look out of place in Destiny. Armor that covers the chest and legs, as well as the simplistic oni mask, make the costume up.

They’re listed in terms of tier requirements with the lower ones first and the highest ones last. Yes, this season’s Tier 100 skin is the Vendetta.

Back Items

The season introduces six new back items. First is the Hot Wings, a pair of mechanical wings in red-orange and yellow, intended to match the Sentinel. Second is Retribution, an accessory that will go well with the Vendetta skin. Next, Backtracker looks like a recon droid with a radar on its front. It perfectly matches the Stratus costume.

Vega‘s back accessory is the Go Bag, and it has geometric shape designs in yellow as well as a sword stuck to it. The Nana Cape is next, which is a cape resembling a banana skin. It fits with the theme of the Bunker Jonesy cosmetic. Last is the Scarlet Edge, wicked-looking stylized knives that pair up nicely with Demi‘s aesthetic.

Gliders

Sail through the air in style with new gliders! Turbo Spin and Retaliator both look sharp as glider skins. Field Flyer, Scarlet Strike, and Tailwind Twister all look like the default glider but with different designs. The last new glider is called Holographic, and it looks like a holographic umbrella. Some of them also match skins, so if you’re going for a theme, these are great to add to your account.

And More

New emojis, emotes, contrails, and harvest tools also came with the season. A notable harvest tool is the Harmonic Axes. They’re futuristic red, black, and blue dual axes. Also, a new pet became available. It is named Kyo, and it’s an adorable robotic creature. Any of the above mentioned items would be a good addition to your collection, especially if you’re planning to sell your account. So make it a point to get all that sweet loot and watch the numbers on the calculator rise!
